Went out today to try for a few reds. Got to the fishing spot at about 11:45. I have some new baits I was trying out called probait. They are shaped like fishbites bit are kind of spongy and they stink a little. First fish on was a catfish. He put up a good fight, thought I had a red at first. After a quick picture he went back in the water to catch another day. I was planning on a CPR trip but one of my buds wanted a few reds for the grill. Here is the first cat.

Managed one more catfish about that size but did not get a picture. It slowed down with the probait so I switched to fishbites and caught even another catfish. I was starting to regret throwing them back if it was going to keep up like this. from 12:45 to 1:30 not a single bite so passing the time I found a little friend. Here is a picture of him.

It took a while to get a decent one of it, them suckers are quick. Then like a switch turned on they started biting. I wasnt paying attention and heard the drag going on one of my reels and brought in a 21 " red. No more than three minutes after I set the rod back out it bends over again and a 23" red goes in the box. The switch turned off after that and I left at around 2:00. It felt good to get out of the house and catch a few, its been a while.
