Crying or Very sad Sorry bud. You'll need to find out which virus you've got, then use a quality anti-virus software to scan and kill it. Microsoft's web site might have something for you to download as well.

You can enjoy virus free computing also, but you'll have to get a Mac. Cool Ahhh... no worries!

I caught the virus last night and the night before. Caught them and killed them off.

They three culprits on mine were Trojan.phel, download.trojan, and bloodhound.w32.

I am currently using Norton w/ internet security.

What did you guys catch??

I get rid of virus at work.....

The BEST FREE VIRUS Software is Grisoft's AVG (go all the way to the bottom, click on the in the AVG Free edition link)
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5

Here's a couple good FREE online virus scanners:

Micro Trend's Housecall (click on "scan your PC") http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Panda's ActiveScan (click on the button center bottom "scan your PC")

http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/

Down a FREE copy of Microsoft's Antispyware software here: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

It's a must have defense against the www's dark half.

Hope this helps...

Yep, I use Norton, and it caught it right away. If you don't have Norton, get it.

I have a php board also but I do not allow uploading of avatars. Avatars are an easy way for someone to up-load a virus to your site. I don't know if that is what happened to Oz but it is something to consider if you are running a PHP based message board.

Good luck to everyone that got infected. Norton or Mcaffee should be able to remove the bugs fairly easily.

The worm was not introduced through the messageboard(s).

This site is now cleaned and back up and running. Sorry for any inconvenience.
