Man, was it windy out there or what today. The water was off-color again where I fished. I could hardly find any clear water. I walked and fished for miles and miles. Walking back to shore was a capital bleep. As I was heading back, about 0.5 miles from shore, I started looking for my truck. I gasped and gasped because I couldn't see my truck near another vehicle that I thought that I had parked near. I felt all my cholesterol rushing and pounding my heart. It's already been a tough past week and a potential WORST to come at work on Monday (my future) and "not this" I thought to myself. I was thinking to myself that old saying, "when it hits the fan..." There were three vehicles to start before I started my wading journey. When I saw only one vehicle in the distance on my return trip, oh man. I panicked like heck. I started raising those tired legs trying to run back through the water and stiff headwinds to make it back to shore. I started to grab for the phone and started to dial for police - all the while thinking about the recent posts about how NOT attentive the PD can be some times. As I got about 0.25 miles from shore, I scanned the coastline..... and then, my stomach sank with sigh of relief.... I saw my truck still there... way down from the other vehicle that I initially saw from the far distance. Oh man. I wonder if any of you wade fishermen ever had a similar experience? It bites the big one!
Well, here's a ~22-23" Red in my eye. Tough day. Blessed for one fine catch though.

When you get out a ways and you look back at shore it is easy to think you parked in one spot when actually you parked someplace else. I have done that too.
Nice red Did you catch that saturday _________________ Fishing and Kayaking its a rough life but somebody has to do it.

Yup, I was way too far!
Red was caught Saturday as I was pan casting from right to left all the while wading and walking on and on.
Let's fish some time. _________________ Live To Fish Tomorrow... Fish To Live Today

Hey LFAMOSO! I started at the first Deadman's Hole (before the church on the left heading towards Port A, Route 361?). It was nearly dead there. When I got there about 9:30 a.m., I asked this guy who was heading back in and asked him how he did. "Notta" he said. He tried every type of lure. He said that he even saw bunch of reds. He started saying something about that he didn't check the tide charts, doppler, pressure, etc. I started thinking, man... he must be one of those "scientific - chart, anglers." For me, I just hit the water if the winds aren't too bad and if it's not down pouring.
God Bless. _________________ Live To Fish Tomorrow... Fish To Live Today

| I have been there before... I was fishing off of IPP when I was headed back to my 2 week old 2003 f150 when i saw from the driverside through the glass that the passenger side window was broken-- ran to the other side to see that someone through a rock through it and stole everything inside. What made it worse was I drove back to s.a. with my girlfriend in the rain and mist with no window (oh yeah, and no fish) what a horrible trip!! |

Hey Guest, I'm very sorry to hear that. That really bites. Especially with no fish to speak of. Reminds me to make sure to put a Club on the steering wheel and don't leave anything exposed or in the truck. Bummer.
I hope you still have that same girlfriend who weathered the rain storm and truck break-in. At least hope that she was supportive and comforting. _________________ Live To Fish Tomorrow... Fish To Live Today
