Well if going by land, you drive down south on PINS and just before the 15 mile marker there is a cut through the dunes. You will need 4WD, after you drive past the dunes the road is excellent. They have fixed it up really nice. The marker will be blue (I think) posted on a telephone type pole on the edge of the dunes.

I saw 2 people stuck there this past weekend.

they were all 4wd vehicles.

One was a isuzu amigo type of vehicle and the other was a jeep. If a jeep or a rodeo can't make it, then it's going to be tough to get through. They weren't 'buried' to the point of no return, but they were digging themselves out.

The sand was deep and soft...but that was before the recent rainstorms.

Shawn,

The biggest mistake people make when heading into the Y is not getting up enough speed. If you are going to go for it, then go for it. If you hit the brakes, or go at it just coasting, you will get stuck.

Have a buddy walk up to the entrance to scout for vehicles coming from the road back over to the beach to make sure you are clear, then hit it!

Good luck and tight lines!
