I caught a 6'7" Scalloped hammer off of horace caldwell last night. It was landed on a 6/0 40lb test. The fish came easily to the pier and then once it got close the fight was on. We had to rope the rod and drop it under the pier becase he shot the pier and the line would have broke otherwise. I am glad I had lots of people there to help me land this large fish. It was my first hammer. The bait of choice was bonita. My next goal now is to land a big tiger or bull.

Good Job, Sounds like it was a blast. I can't wait till BH pier opens back up so. I can go back home. Yesterday, the water was beautifull. I had a hard time not thinking of the pier, but o'l well. It'll open up soon enough. Cool

Sadly the shark was not released due to it being gut hooked. We tried our best but it was almost dead by the time we got it on the pier.
