| Let it go? I have released plenty of legal trout over the years, but if I catch a trout that I think might pass up the current record she is coming home with me. Who knows, a trout that size may have fought to the death anyway. |

Personally, I would not keep one unless I knew it was close to a state record, it was mortally wounded, or if I were entered in the Star tournament.
I think each angler should be able to may their own choices within the law so if they want to keep it fine, same thing if they want to let it go.
Nice fish. |

What a fantastic fish, geesh, amazing.
Back in '71 or '72, when I was fishing for tarpon off the SPI jetties (that's all I fished for back then & they were abundant) I hooked a huge trout on a 7" broken back yellow/black Creek Chub just as I was about to pull it out of the water amongst the rocks on the end of the jetties. At first I thought it was a snook, except it didn't fight near as hard. Not having a stringer (I released all but two tarpon during my career, one for posterity, one given to a shark fisherman) I was about to release the sow trout when a "regular" fisherman excitedly approached me and begged me to give it to him. I did. I measured the fish against my rod, then put the tape to it when I got home. I don't know what it weighed (I guess 10#), but it taped 32". Never seen one (alive) like that since. I bet that fisherman enjoyed all the attention he got. Oh well, you do the silliest things when you're young.
Congrats on the sow, enjoy. -Zano _________________ "Throughout our life, we will only meet two people with whom we can agree with 100% of the time. Ourself, which we shouldn't; and God, which we should." -Me |

Pass on congrats to Bo ... that's a heck of a catch and well earned after 35 years. Thanks for sharing the report. _________________

| The posts on 2coolfishing.com are pretty entertaining. People claiming the trout is actually a tarpon or a ling. Jealous much? Congrats Bo! I have known Bo for a long time and I assure you that trout and pic is legit. |

Is his heart still beating?
I would have had a heart attack right after I had an accident in my shorts. Man, what a GREAT catch of a life time. Most people, including myself, dream of something nearly close.

| That is one awesome fish. So Bo is Ray's nephew. He won the No le Hace tournament last year. Heaviest trout stinger. Hopefully this year they will measure the length as well as weight so that there are no more than one fish over 25 for the stringer. Wonder if he'll be fishing the tournament this year. Does anybody know what he caught that MONSTER on. |

| Potlickers get all the luck. If he had caught that on some real tackle than the would be a feat! But all the same nice fish |
