After phenomenal reports of Jacks and Tarpon and the strangely calm winds
we tried the luck at the jetties tonight.
Lot's of rain minnows busting the surface but couldn't get any takers on the fly Unfortunatly the dead winds cranked up out the north and drove us off the rock.
Looks like the little window of ideal weather just slammed shut. |

| That is my experience for the month of may. There are small windows of opportunities. Sometimes its open when you leave the house but closes before you get there. Most of the time it only lasts for about a half a day. But man oh man its good if you your there when its open. |

Hey guys, do big jacks invade the bays? While fishing the barges just over the ferry landing, I saw what must have been 75 to 80 big jacks justg busting the heck out of everything in site. I switched from live shrimp to silver flake jigs and BAM had two on for about 10 min. each. Then adios,, break off. It was a blast. They kept popping up all over the place. They were in the Aransas channel close to the Lydia Ann channel. |

Thanks pier man. These jacks were running about 30 to 35 lbs. They came uo in about knee deep water all around me. Scared me to death.... All I thought was shark until I saw them. They were huge. |
