|
|
Good morning fishing fans!
I feel that I'm addicted to buying fishing stuff just like any other addiction, except it doesn't destroy my body. My wallet, yes of course. Any cure besides moving to where there's no water?
How many of you feel that you're addicted also?
Is there any support group like "fishingolics anonymous?"
How about family members support group?
If was first bait casters. Followed by spinners. Now fly casting stuff. Man, where does it end.
Besides fishing.... took my Twins to the Corpus Christi Hooks baseball game last night. We had 3rd row seats just on the right side of the home plate. Great view of entire game. No foul balls though for my Twins. If you enjoy baseball or just want something different to do with family... something FUN... catch a baseball game. Last night was a miracle night. 4 homers. 11 runs. Being an original New Yorker and a baseball fan (both Yankees and Mets), I cheered every inning.

| Oh yeah, I'm addicted allright. Great pictures of the new ballpark but if I'm going to catch a foul ball that close, I'd want to have catcher's gear on! |

I almost started purchasing fly gear the other day, but then I decided to wait a while. I'm still catching fish just fine on my spinners and bait casters.
I do want to get the fly gear eventually so I can silently lay a fly on a red's nose, but I really gotta stop spending for a while.
However, there's a definite addiction at work here. I can't seem to drive past Roy's, Boater's World, or Academy without my truck automatically pulling into the parking lot. And I can't seem to leave any of the above without having to lighten my wallet a bit. _________________ Chad Landry

Mr. C'
I heard on Houston radio this AM that Lance Berkman may do some rehab at Corpus before rejoining the Astros. Played his first rehab game at Kissimee yesterday & had one HR batting right and one HR batting left. |

I don't have a problem.
I'm still in the denial period. You can only get help if you want it, and I don't want it, that is if I had that problem. But I don't. |

Give a man a fish, he eats for a day.
Teach a man to fish, and he'll spend every extra dime he has on new equipment, a boat, a kayak, secret baits and a 4wd to get down PINS!

Man,
Those two posts above are too funny.
I do have a terrible addiction and I need a cure.
I know. Win the lottery and open up my own fishing stuff store. I'll call it "FishingOlics Stuff Store." That way I can get all the fishing stuff and put it on layaway or something. But then, I'll have to travel all across the world looking for new fishing stuff. Yikes. Where does it end?
I think I just need a good beer in a remote fishing hole... Oh wait a minute, that'll give me too much time to think of all those fishing stuff again. Ughhh.
I just need some serious fishing time. Man, I haven't wet my feet with my fishing gear in a LONG time.... as you probably have guessed. _________________ Live To Fish Tomorrow... Fish To Live Today

What do you mean "nobody" needs 37 rods and 50 reels? I will have you know "I" am somebody, not a nobody, and I do need those rods and reels every one of them.
Hey wait!! There is no need to look in there. There IS nothing in there. Trust me, do I look like I would lie about a thing like that.
So what did you find? More rods and reels!! I wonder where those came from??? They must have gotten the same breeding virus that those pesky rifles got a few years back. Then the pistols got it. Man I sure hope you don't catch that stuff. |

LMAO @ Krash.
Yep, I'm trying to stay on the wagon as well. Yeah - right (had bids in on 2 6/0's at once this week alone).
They should never have created a category for fishing gear on eBay ... it's like an all night candy store for kids ... with credit cards. _________________

My wife confirmed my addiction just the other day. She came in from the garage and said, "I don't know where the hell all those fishing poles came from, but that's it! No more!!".
All I could say was "Honey there is lots of different types of fishing and each requires different types of equipment. There are rods and reels for trout, rods and reels for reds, rods and reels for shark, rods and reels for surf, rods and reels for piers, rods and reels for boats inshore and offshore, rods and reels for bass and freshwater fish and honey the list goes on. Now how can you expect me to only have one rod and reel for each of these when you know multiple lines in the water will increase my chances of catching fish?"
Needless to say, im still sleeping on the couch...... _________________ GulfSharkFishing.Com

| I drove to Houston today and I saw it. Outdoor World. I realized then...that...yes...I am a buyasmuchchitasicanaholic. I couldn't wait to start heading home so I could put myself in as much hotwater as possible with as much stuff as I could without true justification. Yeas..it is addictive and as soon as you admit your addiction...you too..will be able to face your wife and say..."Yes...I promise it's the last thing I absolutley need..." (until tomorrow or until I hit the beach and see what I really need) But anyways. I did get at least one thing I'd been looking for and the rest will surely get used. |

I've been spending all my free money, and borrowed money on fishing gear for 20 years, I watch ebay every night for fishing bargains, I bid on stuff I don't need. I trade non fishing stuff for fishing stuff. I have every fishing catalog there is, and...
I'm not addicted, sounds like you guys need to get a grip!! |

| YES, I AM ADDICTED, ABOUT THE ONLY THING WORST IS HAVING A 15 YEAR OLD SON WHO IS ALSO HOOKED. THIS BOY CAN'T GO TO ROY'S OR ACADEMY WITHOUT "NEEDING" SOMETHING NEW. LURES, LINE, HOOKS, NEW ROD OR THE LATEST NEW REEL, SOMETHING CALLED A "MORUM" BY ABU-GARCIA. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I BOUGHT IT FOR HIM LAST WEEK. NOW HE NEEDS A ROD FOR IT SO I BOUGHT HIM A HARRINGTON BLANK WHICH IS BEING CUSTOM MADE. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS HE HAS THIS EXPENSIVE "ADDICTION" BUT NO JOB.......I GUESS BEING "HOOKED" ON FISHING IS MUCH BETTER THAN BEING "HOOKED" ON OTHER THINGS. |
