They take a lickin but keep on tickin. A year ago today my truck took a swim in the 3 mile cut and it still going. There was many comments that it would be rusted out in 6 months. I have not had no probs with it except shift sensor's in the Tranny and now I am having the push button sensor probs which is a common thing with GM's. It has over 140,000 miles on it. I have not had a single water or rust problem with the truck. It might had to do with me going to Ziebart 2 weeks after and having all the fluids change but that is all apart of maintenance.

YEP!!! It was pretty funny, last weekend went out to the lake and got caught in a thunderstorm. After parking my friends truck, I had to swim out to the boat because of the wind. I forgot I had the key and remote in my pocket! Suprisingly it still worked! One question, how did you get your truck out? |

Hey Jim,
Glad she's still chuggin along. I was sitting on the south side of the cut watching y'all from my truck when y'all crossed. Had been planning on heading up the beach to your camp. but after watching the people wading, decided not to try it. We had crossed the cut 2 weeks before when the water was 1/2 that deep with no problems, but the storm surge from the tropical storm had started to hit by the time y'all crossed. I decided to stay & fish the cut after y'all left, but the sheriff's dept. evacuated everyone from the beach about 3 hours later.
See ya on the sand one of these days.

Why are you driving out that far from the cut?
Seems like it would be easier to cross closer to shore where the distance isn't as far. Is it shallower out there? Or were you just showing off for the camera?
I know what you mean by Chevy's. The Beretta I just sold off saved my but in some deep water a few times.
I ran it through water almost up to the windows during a couple floods here, both times for several blocks before I got to higher ground. Kept right on going. No water got in either. As long as your grill is above the water line, usually you are okay. _________________ Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
