This past weekend we had to put Baile, our Bernese Mt. Dog, to sleep. She was suffering from osteosarcoma and would soon be in too much pain to bear any longer. No this is not related to fishing but she was by my side every day for 7 years and I will miss her .
With Ratbastard aka "RB" her kitty.
With her friend Heidi wearing the bandana
Another one of Baile(L) and Heidi (R) note the hair on the floor
and at Christmas

Sorry to hear about your loss. I have had to do that a few times with loved pets due to their health, and it is never an easy things. They become such a part of your everyday life, and always greet you at the door when you come home, happy to see you. I was in tears two years ago putting to sleep the cat I had since I was 18. He had FIV and cancer, and it was the best thing for him, but it still doesn't make it any easier. _________________ Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.

Sorry for your loss Tyler...she's in doggy heaven looking down. Dogs do become our fishing partners and some excursions just wouldn't be the same without them by our sides. Our lab - Gypsie - is getting up in her years. My wife and I are having to "train" ourselves to leave her at home sometimes since she's getting so old. _________________ Jeff |

Heidi was the heavy breather! Who could forget her sitting upright and sleeping!
Thanks for the kind words everyone. It does suck but is slowing getting better.

Yeah Tyler, I know . I lost a great friend too. When you have time go to your favorite search engine and pull-up "The Rainbow Bridge". It was a great comfort to me and my family and I hope it will help you too.

I believe if I look in my fishing overnight bag from the times I stayed at TT Place - I can find a bit of Bailee hair still there!
Now can you train another dog to do the "Nasty" _________________ Ahh sand between my toes! |

Tyler,
Truly sorry about your loss. Man, that hurts thinking about it. What a great looking dog! I know how you feel. My big black lab is 14 years old. She's nearing her time. She's an inside dog, so she's living beyond the ave. years for such a big dog according to the vet.
Sorry Tyler. God bless your dog in doggie heaven. |

| Sorry to hear about your loss. I've had to do that before too, and it's tough. We sure get attached to our pets. My Lab, Dakota, is like one of my kids except more spoiled. Hang in there. |
