In-laws are intown and we are getting ready for thanksgiving. I am moaning about the perfect weather so finally everyone says well lets go fishing and eat thanks giving tomorrow so off we go. Stop at the 19 for nothing but a whiting on a bronze spoon. Cruise down to the 41 water looks fishy like you guys told me to watch for put out the long rods and start to eat some lunch. Rod goes off! Nice bend! reel in my first surf redfish! Boy my first view of it in that wave was awesome! It sucked a little drag and taped at about 25 inches. But it in the cooler and cast out again start to finish my lunch and the rod starts bouncing. I llet my wife wind it in for a nice 17 inch pompano! Went back up to re-bait and saw the front tire looking way low. I get out the compressor and inflate and fish the whole time for nothing else. When the tire is good and aired up I figure better play it safe and head for home before I end up having to change it out on the sand. Thanks for all the help guys. It looks like the whiting curse is over! Going back saturday if the weather looks good still _________________ Mike elbert |

My two boys were stoked! They now believe me when I say there are fish besides whiting out there! I owe it to the people on this board. The advice definately sped up the learning curve! _________________ Mike elbert |

Great trip Michael. You can't beat the pomps. I'd suggest taking a tire plug kit along with your compressor. I carry both plus fix a flat and a battery jumper box so I don't have to wait for someone to jump me off in case my boys once again leave the door slightly ajar on the truck overnight and the battery runs down.... again... _________________ B-Bill
