|
|
| While visiting in-laws in the Lake Travis area last weekend, my brother in law took me to a new sporting goods store in Round Rock. It's called Sportman's Warehouse. It's just off I-35 at Exit 250 (Dell computer Exit). It is worth your time to check it out. At least a third of the store was fishing supplies, both fresh and salt water. Imagine an Academy's with only hunting and fishing clothes with a little bit of Roy's thrown in. They advertise that they carry 1,486 fishing rods and 1,242 fishing reels. Anyway, since a lot of us travel that way or come from that way to fish on the Coast, I wanted to let you know that it's there. |

| I made a trip up there shortly after they opened and thought their prices were high. One of the overpriced things among many that I noticed was asking $39 for a 5 day cooler you can get at Wally World and Academy's for $19. They do have a big selection but I thought they had big prices too. I wouldn't make a special trip to go there. They broke ground a couple of months ago for a Cabelas near Buda and it is scheduled to open in the summer of '05. Just my 2 cents worth...George |
