Need help. Let say that the low tide is at 600a.m. and High tide is at 7p.m.
What would be the best times to fish. I need to learn how to read the tide table and this is something i dont understand.
Any help from the experts. Thanks

Depends on when the water is actually moving.

Here is an example. Here is the ide info for the end of the month. The red indicates the peak high tide. The blue line indicates the beginning major water movement. When that water begins to move, the fish will become more active. In this particular case, fishing should be good from early morning hours, through low tide, and up to peak high tide where it slows down until the water begins its major drop.

Now this is not always the case. Sometimes you get a lag time behind a low tide.

Tyler shows the monthly tide charts on his website. Its a great tool. I use them to find out when the major water movement is and try to fish during that window. This is constantly changing every few days as the moon phases progress into the next stage.

I hope this helps.

He is correct. The water movement is what most of us look for along with a couple more things. One is the overall high tide, is there enough water for the flats or not. Just how much water is in the bays. Second is how much is the difference between High and low, the more the difference the more water that is moving. And finally, am I fishing a falling tide or a rising tide? On falling tides, I look for guts and drains where the water is moving. The fish will congregate at these spots for an easy meal. On a rising tide, I look for places where the fish can get skinny and feed on the fertile flats. ANd of course all of this is coordinated to match the weather...

Really not much to it at all........ Wink Wink
