Just got the March issue of the Saltwater Sportsman and found out that the second best place in the world to catch Red Drum in March is in Baffin Bay near Rivera Texas! Just ahead of Rivera is Ocean Springs Mississippi.
I know the fishing for reds here is pretty good, but second in the world? What you got to say Louisana, Alabama and Florida? |

Hey Fred,
Are you sure they were not talking about Speckled Trout. I just read an article on the top 5 hot spots for specks. |

| My wife bought me the same magazine for my valentine's present. I just finished reading that same list and Rivera, TX is the runner-up spot for "trophy" reds this March. Go figure. No only if I can find some time to head down there. |

No fences in the water, many would argue that point. _________________ Fish hard, fish the Bluff. Surrounded by water!

I have fished in that area for a long time. That area is pretty good in the spring. My two biggest red were caught in Alazan Bay. I dont know if it is the second best place in the world, but its preety good _________________ Fish On!!! |

| My biggest (bay) red came from Starvation Point in Baffin many moons ago, but I have caught a lot more in the Yarborough Pass area and in Port Mansfield. Speaking of Starvation Point, I also saw the biggest trout of my life time there. It looked like a fence post just under the water. Needless to say, I did not get hooked up. |
