I'm wanting to buy some waders for the bay and was wondering if anyone had any recommenations.
I've looked at the breathable waders and the Neoprene waders.

Thanks for any input.

I use the Hodgeman breathables year round. When the waters cold I wear something warm underneath. Did leak once but took them back to Acadamy, new pair no questions asked. About $100.00. There are better and more expensive out there. Just what do you want to spend. DR.

I have Neoprene and Hodgemans breathable from Academy, and Orvis breathable which run about $300.00. If I had to do it again, I wuld just buy the Hodgeman breathable and wear them year around. Academy back them up, and I never had a problem with them exchanging them or rods.

Hodgman breathables are the best.
You will not be dissapointed.
Be sure and buy wading boots (about one size larger) to fit over the stockings comfortably.

My hodgman wadelites only lasted a yr & got a small seep leak in the crotch area.

I have both and prefer the wadelites since they are more comfortable to me and you dont sweat in them like the neoprenes when the air temp is not all that low. I have had my hodgemans for about 4 years and just got a leak the other day in the seam on the left leg. I will repair it and keep using them. I will replace them with an upgraded model of the Hodgemans next time.

They sell a glue for it at academy that I am going to try but I am confident that it will work. I glued some velcro straps to some neoprene socks(invention of mine) and it held really well. I will just pinpoint the leak and apply the glue in that area. The glue is kinda thick like silicone so if you glue the inside and out it should hold water tight.

This is a little late but just wanted to assure you that the concensus on Wadelites seems to be right on. I was just packing my wadelites to come visit CC. I have had them since 2000. Never a leak and Ive worn them every year fishing for Rockfish in mid-january in North Carolina in 20degree weather. I dont even use boots you can feel the bottom and you dont get sand lodged in there. Looks a bit goofy though. My buddy bought the neoprene at same time and by the second year he got crotchcicles. I had a pair of wadelites since they first came out and liked them a lot. However, I finally ripped the crotch this past fishing trip, so I am gonna have to get a new pair.

Just reading the posts on repairing waders, how do you all think the old inner tube repair patches done from the inside would work?
