| Is fishing the surf (wade or 1st gut) generally productive this time of year? I know that's luck always plays a factor when fishing but does the cold weather have a serious effect on finding reds, drum and shark from the sand? |

there is no such thing as luck
you can catch reds, black drum, and pompano in the surf right now. _________________ Fish hard or fish elswhere! |

Take a good pair of waders and wade far enough to throw past the first bar with fish bites and fresh shrimp. You ought to find some pompano, redfish, and drum. I am gonna try it tomorrow. _________________ FISH ON!!,

| Past few weeks the reds and drum have been in the wade gut south of the 20 mm, all being caught on dead shrimp, no waders required, except to release under or over sized fish, Allen |

This is why the Corpus area is so great. I live in the Galveston area and you can forget the surf for the rest of the winter. Can't wait until I move there.

We have the same problem in Galveston. My grandfather use to fish the West End of Galveston at San Luis Pass when he was as boy (he was born in 1880 and came to Houston in a covered wagon) and I'm sure he is turning over in his grave now with what is happening.
