Has anyone ever caught any good size fish off of Swatner Park?

i've caught a few small specks,,,,, but have fished for years a spot not far from swanter park,,,, we fished for alligator gar,,, biggest i have seen come from there was 6'6'',,,, my personal best at '' the gar hole'' was 5'10'',,,,,,,,, we have landed alot of gar there...................

Good Job on the gar!

We have fished Swatner a few times and only once my husband landed a 22" drum. I've heard of others actually catching small sharks.

Last time I saw a gar being caught was in the Nueces River before the refineries bought off the land to access it.

One Fall my son lost a nice flounder there and I saw a guy catch a 42" Bull Red. Watch the seawall or bulkhead there as it gets very slippery.
