Can someone give me some intructions on our to mag these reels. I know spinning magnets create a magnetic field, but how do magnets help slow it down. Does the spool have to be metal? I am considering magging these reel. A picture is worth a thousand words.

I just got a 30. Nick at Breakaway told me that magnets are not needed; to use the red brakes that come with the reel; and keep my thumb off the spool when casting.

Yeah I have the 20 and it doesnt need magging. Just install the brakes and your set.
