After the developers win and build their billion dollar resort, we just vote enough new members to the council to imenent domain all that entire area and turn it back into natural dunes (public park) and pay them, say $5 for it, take it or leave it.

mastergunner, how 'bout instead we catch somebody slipping money under the table, get a billion-dollar fine, turn the resort site into a nature preserve, remove the seawall, and triple the length of the Packery Channel jetties? What else should we put on the wish list?

That is good also. Everytime I think about this is really ticks me off. I got out of the Army in 2003 and was in Germany. I could have moved anywhere in the country for free but chose here because of the "open beaches" and being a native Texan and the beaches being state land that means they belong to me along with a whole lot of other people.

How about a fishing tournament in front if the sea wall on Memorial Day and the uniform will be a THONG that way they can see us smiling from both sides. I'll kick in the first hundred bucks for prize money. Plenty of time to get the news guys on it maybe even ESPN.

When this closure first came up I suggested we hold a Catch and Release Shark Fishing Tournament on the new parking lot. I think we can now do Sharkapalooza!
