| I FISHED ON B.H.P. ON THUR RIGHT AFTER THE FRONT BLEW IN AND SAW SEVERAL STING RAYS ON THE SURF AND I AM TALKING ABOUT 20 YARDS FRON THE WATERS EDGE NOT EVEN IN KNEE HIGH WATER. FROM THE TOP OF THE PIER SOME OF THE RAYS LOOK BETWEEN 2 TO 4FT WING SPAN. NOT FAR DOWN TOURIST WERE WALKING IN NOT KNOWING THESE CRITTERS WITH A JAGGED EDGE LITTLE SWORDS WERE LURKING BENEATH. I THINK THIS IS THE TIME OF THE YEAR THEY ARE ALSO DOING THERE MIGRATION , AS THERE HAS BEEN RAYS OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS. SURF FISHERMAN BEWARE! USE CAUTION! |

I got stuck last July 26th, and wasn't totally healed up until February. Pain, and huge medical bills...I am just glad it is all over. Don't get back into the water until that thing is totally healed. I did and the wound split open, and then I got to go through physical therapy daily for about a month to get it cleaned out!
I finally finished paying off the 2500.00 that was left over after the insurance paid....
Be careful out there. I bought some hodgeman stingray boots, but hate them - too heavy to walk in. I just walk slower and hope it is another 35 years before I get stuck the second time. By then, I will be 70...hehe
Good luck!
