SurfRunner Max, Paul, and I got on the beach about 1AM Thursday Morning. Stopped and got a little sleep to wait for daylight and low tide to make the drive down easier. Needless to say, we got very little sleep.

As soon as we saw the tide out and a little daylight showing, we made our way south.

We came across this turtle at about 38 miles down.

We decided to set up a few yards north of the turtle and fish.

We caught a few decent pompano.

Between Paul and I, we caught 5 sharks and 3 bullreds. Most of the sharks were in the 4' range. Not big but decent cast bait sharks. Paul caught a blacknose, which I thought was really cool. That was the first blacknose I have ever seen.

This was SurfRunner Max's first PINS trip. He loved it! He was really impressed with the turtle and coyote tracks we saw. He took one of my shark bait and placed it in the dunes to feed one.

A couple of father and son moments:

Beachbum set up a few yards north of us.....He will post a report on the fish he caught......It was great fishing with you Beachbum...Sorry we had to leave. Sad

The plans werte stay the entire weekend but we forgot our tent pegs and poles..... Embarassed .Just as well since SurfRunner Max was getting fit to be tied and was coming down with a cough. We left about 10PM on high tide. It was a rough ride back but my little Ford Ranger proved her self sturdy for the duty.

We had a great time!
