Which is the "wade gut"? Is this the first one, nearest the shore, before you get to the first bar?
I'm not familiar with the term. |

You got it. At high tide, it is the first one you come too. It goes from the shore to the 1st sand bar. However, with a strong low tide, the wade gut can and will diappear, and the waters edge is at the 1st sand bar.
